What’s fun for kids and their families, entertaining, tastes good and sounds magical? The Sedona Symphony is pleased to offer a unique educational outreach program to the community called the Kids Concert Club (KCC). Each Thursday preceding each of its four concerts during the year, the KCC takes place. This is an interactive, enriching and empowering educational program for children and their families. Designed to accommodate the schedules of working parents, the KCC provides a light supper starting at 5:30 pm followed by an introduction to the concert program. Families experience classical music performed in an intimate and relaxed setting.
Children will enjoy learning about music and instruments from Sedona Symphony Music Director/Conductor Janna Hymes and our Guest Artist. Ms. Hymes then conducts the Sedona Symphony in a full rehearsal for the upcoming weekend concert. The KCC provides an introduction to the magic of classical music up close and personal. The musicians are in everyday attire and there is interaction between them and the Music Director/Conductor. As with any rehearsal, there are occasional stops in the music to make corrections. The children see the Sedona Symphony musicians as real people working together as a team to make the music shine. Families may stay and enjoy the music in an informal atmosphere and leave at appropriate break points to accommodate younger attention spans.
