Jon Nakamatsu

Gold Medalist of the 1997 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, Jon Nakamatsu is a celebrated American pianist known for his intensity, elegance, and versatility.

With performances in over 150 orchestras worldwide and appearances at major venues from Carnegie Hall to the Théâtre du Châtelet, Nakamatsu has captivated audiences across the globe. Equally at home in recital, chamber music, and orchestral repertoire, he is a frequent collaborator with leading string quartets and clarinetist Jon Manasse.

His acclaimed recordings span Gershwin, Brahms, and Lukas Foss, and he has been featured on CBS Sunday Morning, NPR, and Live from Here. A dedicated educator and Stanford graduate, he now teaches at both the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Stanford University.
