Abby Fisher

Percussionist Dr. Abby Fisher is a champion of new music and serves as the Steven Hemphill Endowed Professor of Percussion, Assistant Professor of Percussion, and Director of Percussion Studies at Northern Arizona University.

Her performances have spanned three continents, including festivals in Australia, Mexico, Ecuador, Canada, and across the U.S., with collaborations alongside Sō Percussion, Roomful of Teeth, and Bergamot Quartet.

As co-founder of the Fisher/Lau Project, she actively commissions and premieres groundbreaking new works for percussion. A passionate educator, Fisher has taught at the University of Tennessee and presented at top music institutions and international symposiums.

She holds degrees from Stony Brook, NYU, and Lawrence University, and is an artist with Marimba One, Black Swamp Percussion, Vic Firth, and Zildjian.
